A Quick Guide to Vertical Streaming on YouTube

You may have seen people discussing the value of vertical streaming on YouTube, or you may be curious about how to start. This quick start guide will help you get up and running in no time.

After only a few streams, the benefits of streaming vertically on YouTube become apparent. My second gaming stream was by far the most successful for views on the platform, with a peak concurrent of 15 and over 380 views.

This guide assumes you have an existing YouTube Channel ready for streaming.

Vertical Streaming in Five Steps

  1. Install OBS if you are not already using it to stream to YouTube.
  2. Install the Aitum Vertical Plugin for OBS
  3. Create a Vertical Stream Key inside YouTube Live Studio.

Enter the Stream Key into the Aitum Vertical plugin settings under streaming.

Now, you can build your vertical stream scene in Aitum. With the stream key entered, Aitum will stream vertically to the Shorts feed when you press the stream button.
