The Games to Start 2024

I am learning not to get ahead of myself with excitement and anticipation for upcoming video games. Delays are a part of the process. I will never fault a studio or publisher for waiting to release a game. This is why I will not look at my most anticipated games for the year but instead focus on the next few months and the video games I plan to play between now and the end of February.

And the beginning is dominated by some significant releases...

January 2024

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (January 18th)

I grew up playing the original Prince of Persia on my Mac in 1994, so I felt like the target audience when a new side-scroller Prince of Persia was announced. Everything I have seen has piqued my curiosity, and I love that the franchise is returning.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (January 26th)

I finally dove into the world of Like a Dragon in 2023, thanks to Xbox Game Pass, and I connected with the series more than I expected. Infinite Wealth looks to take this in an even wilder direction with what is best described as an Animal Crossing side activity.

Oh, and here you go for those wanting more of the story and not the silliness!

February 2024

Persona 3 Reload (February 2nd)

It is Persona 3. And it is updated. Enough said.

Skull & Bones (February 16th)

I want Skull & Bones to be good. I want it to succeed for all the years of work that have gone into it. However, after numerous betas, I am still not sold on it. So, why is it here? I believe there is a good game somewhere outside the first few hours. I want to play it, and I want to find that gameplay hook that I love from Ubisoft.

The Other Two

Two Steam games I have my eyes on in the next two months are Enshrouded and Nightingale. Enshrouded is scheduled to enter Early Access on January 24th. Nightingale will enter Early Access on February 22nd.
