Me: I don’t have time for video games
Correction: I have no time to play games made for adults
The Year So Far
The games that have been finished in 2023 thanks to the kid:
– Pokemon Scarlet
– Ratchet & Clank (PS4)
– Ratchet & Clank: A Rift Apart
– Kena
– Spider-man + DLC
– Miles Morales
– Luigi’s Mansion 3
– Kirby and the Forgotten Land
– Super Mario Odyssey twice on co-op after watching the movie
– Tears of the Kingdom
– Paper Mario (N64)
– Paper Mario: The Origami King
– Astro’s Playroom
– Sponge Bob: The Cosmic Shake
– Link’s Awakening (2019)
I must accept that my gaming time is now spent as a Gamer Dad and produce content accordingly. It will be years until I have the time to complete games targeted to an older demographic unless I quit the MMOs and live service games I have been focused on for so long.
There is also something to be said and probably needs to be analyzed further, just how Xbox’s GamePass offering does not appeal to my kid and the market they are missing. Only one game we have completed this year is available on Xbox.

I see you have a Starfield video on your sidebar. I’m looking forward to that one a lot, but I suspect it will be one that is hard to put down and probably not kid friendly. But who knows, maybe the sidekick robot will be interesting to kids. Welcome to Blaugust 2023, enjoy the flood of great blogs and comments.
