The Games to Start 2024

I am learning not to get ahead of myself with excitement and anticipation for upcoming video games. Delays are a part of the process. I will never fault a studio or publisher for waiting to release a game. This is why I will not look at my most anticipated games for the year but instead focus on the next few months and the video games I plan to play between now and the end of February.

Broximar’s 2023 Gaming Year in Review

My gaming experience in 2023 was a wild ride that I did not expect. I started the year excited about Fire Emblem Engage but dropped it halfway through when the kid wasn’t a fan of tactical combat. They were five-and-a-half. I realized early on that the year would be dictated by what games we could play together. This realization made for a wonderful and expansive year in gaming.

Looking Ahead

The plan for 2024 is shaping up to be a significant refocus on only a few platforms and stop trying to be everywhere all the time. My time is limited, and I need to be more aware of this to stop chasing trends and the hot new thing.

  1. Threads / Instagram for social media.
  2. YouTube for video and streaming.
  3. This site is for written content.

I am excited about the future and making it work for the long term.

Costa Verde Transport Department | Let’s Play

I returned to making Let’s Play videos this week. Thank you to the developer and Keymailer for providing a code for Costa Verde Transport Department. I hope you enjoy me fumbling through a few rounds of the game, which I enjoyed quite a bit. The puzzle aspect is right up my alley. And please subscribe over on YouTube if you haven’t done so yet.

Game Summary

A new city is emerging on the vibrant shores of Costa Verde, but the citizens need help: someone must build the roads for them! Luckily, they have you: the head of the city’s Transport Department. The growing city expands in all directions. People drive from home to work and back, industrial trucks transport resources between manufacturers, and you have to plan the road network for the city carefully!

The main gameplay consists of planning & building a road network for the growing city. You have to carefully plan the roads to balance the city traffic and obtain valuable resources that help you progress. Sooner or later, your roads won’t be enough: you’ll have to build detours, roundabouts, bridges, and use some magic!
